Hibachi 2 Who? Hibachi 2 U!

I am a big fan of birthdays. Not just my own, but those of my family and friends as well. I love an excuse to throw a party, go out for some good food and drinks, or just to celebrate someone. I am not afraid of getting older and half the time don't even remember my age without stopping to calculate it. I guess that's the bright side of having a terrible memory.

I don't exactly remember how I came up with the idea to host a Hibachi party for Craig's birthday back in 2021. One of my friends might have mentioned it to me or it could have been one of the many things I saw scrolling through Instagram. All I know is that it was the perfect suggestion for an outside affair in a Covid world.

I found the company Hibachi 2 U with the help of a local Facebook group I am a member of - they came highly recommended. It wasn't a cheap idea, but with a small group it doesn't completely break the bank either. The current cost is $50 per adult and $25 per child under 12, with a $500 minimum. Each person gets to choose 2 main proteins for themselves (chosen ahead of time) and everyone gets salad, rice and veggies. You get assigned a chef, who shows up at the time of the event with all the food and equipment he needs.

We set up our own tables and chairs ahead of time in a "U" shape around where the hibachi grill would be so that everyone had a good view of the show. The chef was fun and entertaining and not cheap with the Sake. And most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Years later and our family and friends are still talking about how great the experience was.

If you are looking for a unique party idea, I would definitely recommend Hibachi 2 U. Honestly, I was never a fan of Hibachi before this and they changed my mind about the experience completely.
